Research! Save the planet!
This project was led by the University Institute for water and environmental engineering research and its objective was to highlight the relevance of giving value to researching actions and their dissemination to society. The proposed action to achieve this was based on the launch of a public call for secondary school, high school, and VET students of the Valencian Community where each centre could submit a research project proposal. The aim of the action was to show pre-university students the scientific methodology which implies the design, planification, execution, management or dissemination of the results of a research of this nature. They foresaw the proposal of projects like experiments, little developments and/or prototypes, bibliographic analysis, and other kinds of actions related to scientific development. The projects had to be related to water, climate change, and SDGs. The 15 best projects received a 1000€ prize and continued into the second phase of the project where they had to publish a post in a blog explaining the tasks done and the obtained results. Additionally, they had to write down a final report.
