IN-SERVICE TRAINING ACTIVITIES IN PRIVATE COMPANIES WITHIN THE SCOPE OF SUSTAINABILITY REPORTS: THE EXAMPLE OF TURKEY

The aim of the study is to determine the various in service training activities that corporate companies apply based on their sustainability report and present a Picture for companies or firms that are recently developing and institutionalizing regarding in service training activities. Study was conducted via document review for this aim. Sustainability reports of companies which conduct their businesses in banking, automotive and energy fields from industry and service sectors in Turkey. To choose which sustainability reports to use within the context of this study, four sustainability reports from each sector was decided to be included in the study to reach the maximum variety. It was aimed to reveal the education activities and in service training activities placed in these reports. The results showed that companies studied paid attention to individual and professional development. Besides, occupational health and safety training, supplier and dealer training, research-development studies, social responsibility projects and Ministry of Education and university cooperation trainings were concluded to be conducted.
