Engaged with the Sustainable Development Goals
Valencian Community’s CEU high school of Professional Studies being conscious of the importance of rising awareness towards the SDGs, decided to contribute to the achievement of some of them. For that purpose, they implemented some initiatives and promoted new ideas which aimed an approach to these goals. For instance, among the proposals to get to know how to take care of life of land (SGD 15) some students visited an Urban Solid Waste plant followed by a route of ecotourism. This is a way of learning about the environment and spreading the culture of sustainability in the society. Another initiative they run was the solidary library. This was a space to share readings among students, teachers, and administrative personnel through a loan/donation formula. The objective of this was to boost the reading habit, aligned with the 4th SDG “Quality Education”. The objective of this centre was to keep doing activities in order to educate students on the goals. However, they were forced to stop due to the Covid-19 (they began working on this in January 2020).
