SDG Towns: YOUth Engaged 2030 Vision

This pilot project supported young people to engage with the Sustainable Development Goals and to explore how to go about creating SDG Towns in their local areas. Europe and throughout the world because the SDGs are a personal, local, national, European and global issue. Agenda 2030 – will last for 15 years from 2015 – 2030 and it is important that young people get involved now in order to support Ireland and the world achieve these ambitious goals.
This project supported deeper awareness, understanding, and commitment to learning about and taking action on the SDGs which can be broken down into the 5 P’s – People; Planet; Prosperity; Peace; and Partnership. We in NYCI believe that there is an extra 6th P – Participation. Young people, through this project worked towards ensuring that "No one gets left behind". The young people involved committed themselves to share their learning with policy makers and the public with the expectation that other young people and towns will want to replicate this idea.
