Energetic poverty

Students of Madrid’s Polytechnic University have the opportunity to do their internships carrying out audits, as well as micro-interventions in the homes of families selected together with VET students. The project collaborates with the programme Sustainable Neighbourhoods of the Fundación Tomillo, which aims to reduce energy poverty, as well as improve the practical training and social skills of its electricity and electronics students. Achieving the SDGs implies developing a set of capacities that cannot be acquired through theoretical training alone. Students must relate to their social, economic, and natural environment through a process of participatory learning where technical and social skills as well as values are taught and practiced.
